How to care for your lingerie, underwear and hoisery : A Quick Guide
Investing in quality pieces and garments to build a beautiful lingerie wardrobe can be fulfilling; this is why you must take good care of your intimates and give it the attention and love it deserves to lengthen the life expectancy of the delicate fabrics.
We would be sharing our best-known tips on how to keep your lingerie clean and new looking.
1. Hand wash your lingerie:
You've probably heard this before, and that's because handwashing your lingerie is the best-known way to keep your underwear clean and preserve its color.
2. Machine Wash?:
Now we know that hand washing might sound like a bit of a task, and that is okay! Some of us have busier schedules and lifestyles. If you must use the washing machine, invest in a lingerie laundry bag, and ensure that your intimates are turned inside out; fasten the bra hooks. Use the gentle cycle option on the machine. Do not wash your lingerie with other clothing garments.
* Whatever method you decide to wash your lingerie (Hand or Machine wash), you should always use mild soap or detergent, and do not forget to sort them by color( Light and Dark). Use cold water and Mild or gentle soap or detergent. Hand washing is the advisable method for Hosiery care.
3. Air Dry:
Do not put your lingerie in the DRYER! Lingerie is best air-dried; you can dry them by laying them flat on a towel or hanging them on a drying rack. Ensure that all the soap is rinsed out properly, squeeze lightly, gently press out residuals and excess water in the fabric.
4. Let that bra breathe :
I know, I know. We all have that favorite bra that we enjoy wearing all the time because of its color or because it is the perfect lingerie for our body type. Still, love is caring, and if you love that bra enough, you should ensure its longevity by not wearing it too often. The same goes for that sexy underwear; let it breathe.
5. Hosiery care:
Your hosiery is your most delicate lingerie; it should be kept away from anything that can pull its thread, like your ring, a nail, or sharp fingernails. Apply a good moisturizer on your hands and legs before putting them on to aid its wear smoothly. Hand wash, air dry, and do not iron. Make sure to fold neatly and put aside.
6. Lingerie Storage:
To avoid bends and unflattering folds, stack your molded cup bras in the drawer. You can lay your soft cups flat a stack too, and a good lingerie organizer would be of great help. Avoid folding your bra cups inwards.
